Key props in the story, Elphaba's hat and broom, poppies and emeralds entwine to form a story within the W, recalling illuminated manuscripts. A golden yellow brick road leads us to this hightened storybook.

For the end credits, we weave through all the clues to find names. "As Poirot claimed earlier, the phone call is the key to understanding the case."

Designs for main titles for an ancient Chinese war epic. Designed by me in Cinema 4d and Redshift.

Disney's “Alice in Wonderland” franchise has a rich literary and visual history.  For James Bobin's “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” Blur created a main on end sequence that drew inspiration from that legacy.

Alice's journey continues after the film, when a nautical map of Underland comes to life. With Absolem the butterfly as our guide, we fly through whimsical paper architecture created from maps and Alice literature. Within this world, we find beloved Underlandian friends illustrated in Sir John Tenniel's unique Victorian style.

These friends engage in various tea parties across Underland, illuminating character quirks to sweet effect. For the finale over a paper chessboard, all friends unite for a final toast, leading us to a heartfelt dedication to Absolem's voice actor, Alan Rickman.

HBO’s Emmy nominated documentary ALEX VS AROD graphics with client Religion of Sports. For the logo, the A-ROD persona becomes more sullied, and dominates the tepid and faded ALEX. For the headlines, we shot an organic collage approach. For archival footage we created a photo album.

A newly imagined show based on the beloved "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" format, this celebrity studded gameshow is hosted by Travis Kelce, and will run on Amazon Prime.

The graphics have an academic aesthetic married to a golden, glitzy, red carpet affair.

Amazon makes everyone's wish list dreams come true in this new gameshow on Prime!

We wanted this MOE to continue the awesome humor, 4th wall breaking meta-references, prankster predilections, and rough and tumble ride of the film on into the credits.  I came up with the idea of ending with an Honest trailer, which was the second choice.  Deadpool as a stick figure was Tim Miller's original concept.

We created 8 unique episode titles, foreshadowing the creative partnerships between legendary couple Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon. To stay true to the time period of their story, we shot everything on 16mm with props and kodaliths.

The lovely folks at Gearbox Entertainment enlisted us to develop a summary of the Homeworld 1 and 2 narratives to ready players for the next installment of Homeworld 3. We employed a painterly look that mixed iconic concept art with the anime aesthetic of Akira and Ghost in the Shell. A color story of warm desert tones transitioning towards cool water tones helped tell the story of the great exodus of the Kushan people from Kharak to Hiigara.

WebMD asked us to help develop a journey through video games as a metaphor for life, fighting, winning and losing against a disease. 8 bit graphics give way to an open world block aesthetic with Joel as the lead in his own video game.

GET READY FOR THE VAMPIRE APOCALYPSE

CHALLENGE: CREATE A BLOCKBUSTER FOR YOUR EARS

When Audible returned for Season 2 of their hit apocalyptic vampire series, they requested a campaign that would deliver on their strategic positioning of “a blockbuster for your ears” and “prestige listening.” They also wanted to explore the thrilling story of the two Dunraven sisters, one human, one vampire, and their tangled dual destinies. But honestly they had us at “hello.”

OUR APPROACH: FOCUS ON COMPELLING SISTER STORY AND EXPAND THE UNIVERSE VISUALLY

Our approach was to A) show the contrasts between the two sisters and B) display the epic scope of their worlds...from a crumbling castle in England, to an abandoned military base in the UK, to the mountains of Dubrovnik where the ancient Vampire council is based. These worlds are connected through the sisters’ shared bloodlines that serve as roads which reveal each others’ (sometimes unwanted) destinies.

Narcolepsy becomes humanized and sympathetic in this piece sponsored by WebMD. We used the sunflower as a metaphor for Judy’s (our subject) sunny personality, as well as the sunflower’s distinct look when the sun goes down (as if the flower has fallen asleep.) We also created visual looks to contrast Judy when awake and when asleep, creating a dreamscape of sorts. By the end of the piece, Judy’s advocacy causes many others like herself (in the guise of sunflowers) to join her, giving her a welcome respite to the isolation of the disease.

The film-makers wanted a modern, finger snapping celebration for the main on end, reflecting Migos’ catchy song “My Family.” We were inspired by a green-spray painted “makeover” in the film, and used that as a visual thread to unite all of the characters stylized in a pop art, neon palette. Watch for easter eggs of the character “What.”
